Thanks for the information. What you descibe sounds like a kernel panic, but unfortunately, your log doesn't contain any information about the crash. Could you please follow the steps at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DebuggingSystemCrash in order to try to obtain a trace of the crash (and also run memtest).
