Public bug reported:

When I plug in my Nokia 6500 Classic phone to be used as an USB storage
device it automounts fine. But when I enter one of the subfolders of the
device to paste a file the "Paste" option is disabled. I found out that
entering a subfolder, right-clicking and choosing Properties and
changing "Folder access" under the "Permissions"-tab to "Create and
delete files" allows me to write files to this particular subfolder.
This has to be repeated for every subfolder on the device that I wish to
write to.

It seems like it would be the most logical if the USB drive was mounted
with "Create and delete files" enabled by default. Not all people would
think to look under permissions, especially not if you're not used to
Linux. It took me a while to figure out at least.

I'm not sure what information to include but here's some output of "ls
-l":
