Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

The situation:

1. There is available 1 access point (just a plain ap).
2. The access point is connected to the "router" provided by the ISP.
3. The connection is done via PPPoE using the "router".

The problem:

Whenever I choose "Dialup Connections"/"Connect to Default Provider via Modem",
doesn't get connected, neither show any error message.

The log shows something like "PADO time out".

The solution:

Kill the process that take the network device (aka dhclient). And then run
manually "sudo pon".

I expected something like:
- NM connects to AP and it tries to get an IP using DHCP
- If I choose Dialup I would expect to disable DHCP and enable PPPoE
  (or PPP).

Extra data:
Ubuntu 8.04, NM-0.6.6

** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
