and an exact description of how the problem manifested itself is that i cant change my screen resolution to 1280*1024 with "monitor resolution settings" or "screen resolution" under sytem > preference menu, with no problem, because when i change screen resolution my desktop screen goes crazy, like when a blender is near a tv that screen shows some kind of interference, something like that and when i finally (doing what, i don know) with resolution switcher "resapplet" changed my desktop screen resolution to 1280*1024 my login screen resolution is still the same than before "1024*768" and when i open "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" file it doesnt give me the posibility to change my screen resolution, it shows me this:
