Hi jpiesing, Can you clarify just a little more for me. After you load the ircomm and ircomm-tty modules, did you still have to do create the devices using something like 'sudo mknod /dev/ircomm0 c 161 0' or were /dev/ircomm* created for you automatically? From your comment it seems like /dev/ircomm* were created for you automatically which is what should happen.
So it would seem your issue is that you want the ircomm and ircomm-tty modules automatically loaded?
