Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mdadm

The mdadm version distributed with ubuntu 8.10 (2.6.3) cannot resume
reshaping an array if it was interrupted. This is fixed in the next
version of mdadm (2.6.4). The fix is in the release notes, and I can
confirm that replacing my ubuntu-distributed mdadm with a locally
compiled 2.6.4 allowed me to resume reshaping my array. Seeing as
reshaping an array (adding a disk) is COMMONLY a 10+ hour operation,
this makes it very dangerous.

** Affects: mdadm (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
