Hello bascule, I have tried dmraid on my first computer, on which I mounted an ide disk next to the raid disks and succeeded to install suse 10.3. Starting up suse takes a lot of time while trying to mount the raid and jbod disks using the ahci driver, which finally does not succeed. When I try dmraid which is standard installed in suse using the command: su dmraid -ay it gives an error. If I give the command su dmraid -r then the raid disks are detected. Suse however cannot see the Raid and Jbod disks. My conclusion is that dmraid won't work either, even if I were able to run Ubuntu as live cd. For this is the problem on my 64 bits computers. If I start the 64 bits live cd it always ends up in the busy box. Only my 32 bits computer allows running the 32 bits live cd and installing 32 bits ubuntu. I don't have a clue why the live cd does not properly start, because this cannot have anything to do with the fake raid. Any idea?
