Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: systemsettings-kde4

I have a rotating monitor, configured in portrait mode. I'm now using
kde 3.5.9, where rotation works, and have 4.1 installed in parallel.
When trying to configure the monitor rotation in system
settings->display, it ignores me. It asks to keep the new configuration,
so something is being tried, but nothing happens (i.e. the desktop is
still in landscape mode).

Furthermore, after rebooting, the rotation setting is reset to "no
rotation".

I've tried, using virtualbox, to see if it works in opensuse livecd
packaging of 4.1, but:

1) The systemsettings interface for monitor rotation is different (it uses some
radio buttons instead of combo boxes, and there's not the green scheme of the
available monitors like in kubuntu).
2) Even so, the options are grayed out so I can change them to test.

Please advice for further testing/pinpointing.

The package version is systemsettings-kde4 4:4.1.0-0ubuntu1~hardy1~ppa3
