see bug 255008 if this is a dupe of that. Please attach your
/var/log/Xorg.0.log, /etc/X11/xorg.conf and the output of 'setxkbmap
-print'. Make sure that you have set the keyboard model as 'generic -
evdev' in the gnome keyboard configuration.
