Public bug reported: When I boot Ubuntu 8.04.1 with linux 2.6.24-19, the following happens:
... nothing for 3 minutes.... ALERT! /dev/mapper/Ubuntu-root does not exist. Dropping to a shell! and I'm thrown into a rescue shell. The boot command is: /vmlinuz-2.6.24-19-generic root=/dev/mapper/Ubuntu-root ro quiet splash But when I boot with 2.6.22-14-generic instead, everything works fine. Even though the same boot command is used to boot both kernels. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- /dev/mapper/Ubuntu-root is missing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/255477 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
