Actually it's live-initramfs (http://packages.debian.org/live-initramfs) from Debian live need this. I use live-initramfs to create a Ubuntu live, but when this ubuntu live boots, the live-initramfs will use /lib/udev/cdrom_id to detect the cdrom and map /dev/cdrom... something like that. Thanks.
