Public bug reported: The drives are detected correctly by the kernel as you can see the output in dmesg, however the drive never appears on the nautilus desktop as used to happen. This is on a Dell OptiPlex 755 running Ubuntu 8.04.1 amd64, fully updated. It doesn't matter if I plug the device into the USB ports on my LCD or the front of the computer. I can manually mount the device through the command line.
