Hi Everyone, One thing I'd be interested in is if people could test booting with the "all_generic_ide" boot option. It may be a possible workaround for some at the moment. (I saw in a previous comment Andy had tried this unsuccessfully, but I'd like to get feedback from others as well) If you can also comment on the version of the kernel you are running that would be great too. You can get this by doing 'cat /proc/version_signature'
Next, I'd like to know if anyone has had the chance to confirm this is still an issue with the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. We'll want to make sure we have this fix resolved in the upcoming release first and then backport any necessary patches to Hardy if possible. You can get the latest Alpha release of Intrepid (Alpha 3 at the time of this posting) from http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . It would be great if someone would be willing to test. If the issue still exists under Intrepid please attach an updated full dmesg output after you've inserted a blank CD. We really appreciate everyone's patience as we try to resolve this issue.
