Hmmmmmmm, I don't see what I hoped to see. I thought I might see some processes that remain running after you log out, which might create some problems on your next session. That would offer an easy explanation but unfortunately isn't the case.
Whilst I think about it, could you try a few different applications and tell me which ones (if not all of them) play no sound.
