After disabling proprietary nvidia driver xorg at normal resolution
without problems.

However there are some kind of issue remaining as the proprietary
hardware drivers guide (jockey-gtk) now doesn't recognize there is an
nvidia card present for which a proprietary driver (nvidia-legacy in
this case) could be installed.

uname:
Linux molly 2.6.24-20-generic #1 SMP Mon Jul 28 13:49:52 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
lspci:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV15DDR [GeForce2 Ti]
(rev a4)

I am sorry if this is going off topic. But it appears that the new
kernel introduces some minor regressions.
