Switch user is pretty screwed up, and I don't think it is a video card
problem. I just tried it again to see if the problem I reported above is
still reproducible, since I am getting all updates including proposed.

I have a User Switch in my top menu bar now. Here is what happened:
I login as user 1
I switch to user 2
I start a virtual console, see the login prompt, and then return to GDM via 
alt-f7
But it takes me back to user 1, not user 2, so that's wrong.

Then it starts to break. I logged out of user 1, logged in again as user
2.My desktop immediately started; it clearly resumed the existing user 2
session.  But I had an infinite loop of the sound effect for session
start.

The good news is that I could not reproduce the problems I reported
above.
