I think this is probably because the underlying clock-setup code doesn't use a cancellable progress bar. This has recently been fixed in Debian, so I'll merge that fix. With this, you should get a Skip button in Ubiquity, and pressing that should cancel the NTP synchronisation.
(In general, anything that does network access in the installer ought to get a cancel button of some sort eventually, or else be opportunistic with a short timeout. Network access can legitimately take longer than most people would be prepared to wait as a timeout.) ** Changed in: clock-setup (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: ubiquity => clock-setup -- Ubuntu 8.04 install on Toshiba Tecra 9100 gets stuck at 87% (Getting the time form a network time server) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230353 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
