This visually nasty bug confirmed here with Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex, kernel
2.6.26-4-generic, and Gnome 2.23.5. My Western Digital 120GB external
USB harddrive pops up with two desktop icons and the above error - but
is nevertheless acessible without any problems. Here the dmesg output:
