Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image
Just ran an update which pulled in a new kernel. When attempting to boot to the new kernel my system freezes at the "Starting up..." prompt. I had to select the previous version from the GRUB menu to boot. $ apt-cache policy linux-image linux-image: Installed: (none) Candidate: 2.6.24.20.22 Version table: 2.6.24.20.22 0 500 http://ubuntu.virginmedia.com hardy-proposed/main Packages 2.6.24.19.21 0 500 http://ubuntu.virginmedia.com hardy-updates/main Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com hardy-security/main Packages 2.6.24.16.18 0 500 http://ubuntu.virginmedia.com hardy/main Packages ** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [hardy] Freeze at "Starting up..." prompt with latest kernel only https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251918 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
