Public bug reported: I have a Sony VAIO VGN-NR230AE. It's a Brazilian VAIO model, not sure whether it's available in America but in Brazil it's _very_ popular. Right from the start after installing Ubuntu 8.04 I noticed that *only* the volume and Scroll Lock Fn-keys work. None of the others does anything.
After some searching around I found bug #176888 and bug #173652. After following the instructions in those bug reports I do manage to change the brightness levels using xbacklight... But the Fn keys still don't work. So after going through https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/HotkeyResearch I finally discovered that in fact my Fn keys aren't producing any ACPI events or magic numbers, using any of the methods described there. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: I have a Sony VAIO VGN-NR230AE.
