Public bug reported:
Downloaded 2.6.24-20-generic kernel updates today (Pre-released updates-
Hardy proposed). After these packages were installed, I restarted and
on boot the computer hangs after showing "Starting up..." in the upper
left corner of the monitor. Others report the same problem in the
Ubuntu forums.
Hardy 8.04.1 desktop-i386
Sempron 2500+ processor
Sapphire Radeon 9600XT running ATI Catalyst 8.7 driver
