Just found this problem on a new server, this time using ldap as a user
source instead of winbind, on Debian/etch. This server is running nscd,
and it's still having the same issue.

So: I don't think your workaround actually works, marx, at least not on
my systems, and this problem appears to exist upstream as well.

I would be *really* nice if this could get fixed, so that cron was
actually usable with centralized user management.
