1. I am not sure how to tell if I am running the" Ubuntu Stable Release" or not. I am a bit behind on updates: Update manager claims I can add 104 updates. I am reluctant to do so, because the last several times I've done it, my Nvidia X11 went to bit heaven, and it took a few days of screwing around to get the dual-monitor support working properly again.
2. I enabled /etc/default/apport, but did NOT yet restart the box. I'll do that in a second. However, at this point, if I do System/Preferences/Sound, I get this in dmesg: [ 847.159824] gnome-sound-pro[7274]: segfault at 48e2b9e0 rip 7f66497456a8 rsp 7fff548c8d30 error 4 3. There is no files in /var/crash. I'm going to reboot this box and try it again. -- Preferences/Sound segfaults in gnome-sound-pro https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230744 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
