Bloesum: without a log it is difficult to say what caused the problem. can you reproduce the problem and then (without rebooting) type this in the command line? cp /var/log/Xorg.0.log $HOME/
then reboot and send me the Xorg.0.log which you will find in your home directory Nat Tuck, Bloesum: Using NVIDIA's installer can break the system. The NVIDIA installer doesn't pay attention to what is on the system and therefore simply overwrites certain files which are part of other packages thus causing problems when you try to upgrade Ubuntu to a new release (e.g. from Hardy to Intrepid). Furthermore when the kernel is updated, the Xserver will crash and you will have to use the NVIDIA installer again. Use it at your own risk. -- [hardy] Nvidia 9600 GT Not Supported https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216636 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
