Well, the 8.7 driver has just been released. Might be worthy of updating the package for this driver and check to see if this one solves at least some of your problems? The changelog says something about a fix for X segfaults ive been seeing now and then so... :) Aaah, the joy of binary cra^Wdrivers.. :)
