That was done before I posted. Should have mentioned that. Thanks for the post though.
I've also checked the various switches. It worked in 7.04 after selecting or deselecting (I've forgotten which) one of the switches, but now that option is either not available or this is a different bug. I should also mention that this is a fresh install of 8.04, not an upgrade from a previous version. I used 7.04 for a while, then had to switch to Windows XP (TM), upgraded that to Vista which lasted for 2 weeks when it was wiped out and I installed Ubuntu 8.04. I've read numerous posts concerning sound on a T43 with 7.04, 7.10, and 8.04. There is almost always a mention of deselecting the headphone detection switch, but that isn't visible in alsamixer or any the standard gnome volume controller. -- Ubuntu 8.04: No sound on T43 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/250370 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
