I have similar problem using USB. I use several USB devices on my laptop, a USB mouse, a USB keyboard, a USB IPW UMTS device (module: ipw). All work well on Windows and Ubuntu 5.10, but keyboard and IPW fails to work on 6.06 and 6.10 RC. it seems that the problem is in the new kernel usb handling. The system doesn't hang but the modem doesn't work and keyboard keeps sending a message in dmesg (something like IRQ, -32,...). It's perfectly recognized. Note: the keyboard works before "Preparing restricted drivers..."
