If the fix is only renaming the file, there is still the issue of what order sources.list and the contents of /etc/apt/sources.list.d are read in. The README for apt-build instructs the user to put a deb line in the original sources.list. This is still necessary for apt-build install to work properly, but is in contradiction to the behavior of the dpkg configuration, which puts the apt-build file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d instead. Would this behavior be a different bug?
