Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wine
A lot of software problems exist because when software is run in Wine it
is not done so from its directory. As a programmer myself who uses
external files for a whole lot, it's very important they they be found
by the software, which means that the software needs to be run from its
folder. I tell people they need to go the terminal and 'cd' to the
directory, then wine TheProgram.exe, but it would be great if it was
something that happened automatically. I'm pretty sure that's what
Windows does, anyway.

** Affects: wine (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
