Tried out hubackup today and see the same behavior. It let me select a hard drive to back up to, but then went into the Twilight Zone, supposedly creating an archive somewhere in my home directory, but none is to be found. Reading some of the other bug reports, it is apparently a "feature" to only backup to removable media? If this is the case, then the short descriptions of the program ought to make that clear, and the program shouldn't let you choose a hard drive to backup to in the first place.
