I'm afraid that TerryG's claim that Ubiquity relies on GRUB to enumerate other operating systems is entirely mistaken. It does not. It relies on GRUB to *boot* them, but detection is done via a completely separate component called os-prober.
Could you please attach /var/log/installer/syslog and /var/log/installer/partman to this bug, following the directions in http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs? Thanks in advance. ** Changed in: os-prober (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: ubiquity => os-prober Importance: Undecided => Medium Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- Gutsy(beta) install did not recognise other Linux distros on disk, ie they do not appear in GRUB https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
