hi , i was having the same problem with skype. i found a way to fix it. i have no idea if my solution affects any underlying program but my skype works fine now . the solution is to install all the alsa dependencies and the alsa firmware found in the repository. (alsa-firmware-loader, alsa firmware, alsa utilites). i restarted my system and my skype works fine. also , i'm able to play exaile music player and youtube videos or rhythmbox and youtube side by side. hope this helps
