Interesting, it looks like with -intel the xserver is connecting your Configured Monitor to your VGA output, not to LVDS:
+(II) intel(0): Output VGA using monitor section Configured Monitor +(II) intel(0): I2C bus "CRTDDC_A" initialized. +(II) intel(0): Output LVDS has no monitor section +(II) intel(0): I2C bus "LVDSDDC_C" initialized. +(II) intel(0): I2C device "LVDSDDC_C:ddc2" registered at address 0xA0. +(II) intel(0): I2C device "LVDSDDC_C:ddc2" removed. However later in the log it sees that the VGA out is present but doesn't have anything connected to it. So maybe what's happening is that the LVDS isn't getting a crtc assigned to it? Could you try adding the following to your Monitor section in xorg.conf? Option "Monitor-LVDS" "LVDS display" Also, if possible would you mind testing against Intrepid, and see if the issue still exists with the latest version of -intel? ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Incomplete -- [gutsy, hardy] Blank screen on i945GM using intel driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221119 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
