Does someone care to try the Hardy kernel at http://people.ubuntu.com/~smb/bug136836? This is a first try so maybe this does not work out. In any case if you test it, please submit your lspci -vvnn info for the ethernet and the debug lines that get printed for msi_enabled/msix_enabled.
