seeing as the last person to follow had issues in their pioneer 110D dvd writer, i had a 112D dvd writer that wasn't working, and i had not updated the firmware for quite sometime (1.5years or so). i swapped it out to a windows machine just so i could update the firmware, after doing so, reinstalled hardy and it worked once again for me with no problems. i had even bought a sata burner which wasn't necessary, since i didn't expect this to work, but it did, for me, and that doesn't mean thats the solution to all these problems.
