Public bug reported: Adept crashed after I clicked "Next" on the Java installation dialog whilst upgrading. Adept can't be reopened and I get a "Database Locked" dialog saying another process is using the packaging system - eventhough no such process seems shows up in KSysGuard. This seems to be a recurring issue (I had it on Kubuntu Fiesty, Gutsy and Hardy) and sometimes it doesn't go away after a reboot. The lockup crashes Adept and yields the following backtrace:
