I started testing Ubuntu Hardy with the 1st beta, so its hard to know when first it worked (as far as I remember though, hardy beta did not work until the day before release on my laptops).
So I am quite convinced it worked with 8.04 release. Apport does not produce a crash report, xsane simple is in sleep mode. I don't know how to upgrade to Intrepid version.
