I can, somewhat. I get this error with a lot of different URLs, but the worst is gmail.com:
$ /usr/lib/firefox-3.0/firefox --verbose --sync The program 'firefox' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 102 error_code 8 request_code 145 minor_code 3) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) $ sudo apt-cache policy firefox-3.0 firefox-3.0: Installed: 3.0+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 Candidate: 3.0+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 Version table: *** 3.0+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3.0~b5+nobinonly-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages kubuntu 8.04-kde4 $ cat /proc/version Linux version 2.6.24-19-generic ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7)) #1 SMP Wed Jun 18 14:43:41 UTC 2008 This is a clean install with an old home directory. The old install was working just fine until the hard drive died. Now nearly every other website crashes Firefox. (Frankly, I'm surprised Launchpad didn't.)
