Also confirmed in ZeroC forums: http://www.zeroc.com/forums/help-center/3451-problem-installing-icepy-3-2-1-a.html#post16353 The provided python 2.5 binary is built using python2.4 headers. Rebuilding the package from source after removing python2.4, python2.4-dev (and /usr/include/python2.4) solves the situation.
