I have the same problem with my Logitech Fusion webcam. Its worth noting the webcam doesnt work at all under Ubuntu, the microphone works, but with that clicking sound. Another USB headset (MS LX-3000) works fine with Ubuntu/Skype. The same Logitech fusion webcam/microphone works just fine under windows.
