Just as a status update, there have been serveral Kernel upgrades since I filed this bug. It still has not fixed the ability to execute a reboot. I still ahve to either shutdown (and then press the start button to start back up), or select restart and them manually press the power button after the machine hangs at the shutdown. The bottom line is this prevents remotely rebootiing your machine which is something I do a lot (after, for example, after a kernel upgrade from Update-manager).
