Thank you for sharing your experience on building the packages on your
own.

I'm following this bug report now for a couple of weeks and I also regret, that
I have upgraded my computer at work
to Hardy too early. At home I'm still on Gutsy with my Laptops, Server and
Desktop PC due to the lack of octave-forge.

Is it normal in launchpad, that a bug is confirmed but still undecided two
month after discovery
and 10 weeks after the release of the LTS version?

Unfortunately I do not have the skills to build the package myself.

What to do next to get this going? I saw that there's already a thread in
ubuntuforums.org
initiated by Alessandro. Has anyone raised this issue on the #ubuntu-bugs IRC
channel?

BTW: I also couldn't find the octave-forge package in Intrepid. It seems, that
they have split
the package since I found, for example, octave-image and octave-general, which
are/were parts
of octave-forge. Is it an idea to include these packages from Intrepid in Hardy?

Cheers
