This bug has been marked as a duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205374  however, in my case, the card is
always discovered and has an IP address assigned using DHCP but fails to
work, same thing happens if I manually configure it. I believe my system
has been fixed, however, simply by disabling IPv6. Unfortunately, due to
the intermittent nature of the fault I'm unable to say with any
certainty. It would be interesting to know if IPV6 has only been
introduced or, perhaps, implemented differently since Hardy.
