Hi! I'm writing this to say i DO have that exact same problem for couple of weeks now. It appeared after one of the regular updates. My wifi card is not Netgear ASIK, but it has a similar chip. It's built-in in my notebook. That's the lspci line concerning it:
00:0a.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88w8335 [Libertas] 802.11b/g Wireless (rev 43) The kernel is: 2.6.24-19-generic and "ndiswrapper -v" returns version 1.52. Both are stock ubuntu packages. No tweaks. Don't close the bug as I think more ppl will show up experiencing it.
