I'm still seeing this issue in Hardy with version 1.26 of faac. It seems to be associated with up sampling. If I try to up sample from 8000 Hz to 44100 Hz I get the hanging behavior, but if I up sample from 8000 Hz to 22050 Hz I don't get the hanging behavior.
