Try to disable NetworkManager If you has problem with it:
1. STOP NetworkManager service
/etc/dbus-1/event.d/25NetworkManager stop
2. Reload driver
wlanconfig ath0 destroy
wlanconfig ath create wlandev wifi0 
3. Connect to AP
iwconfig ath0 essid '16Floor_TestNet'
iwconfig ath0 key s:12345
ifconfig ath0 192.168.0.99 netmask 255.255.255.0
