Seconded. If software developers could put a simple "Download for Linux" link on their sites as they do for Win32 or OS X apps, it would likely result in more software releases for Linux. The Slashdot post referenced above is part of a thread about the WINE 1.0 release, a reminder that releasing software that runs under WINE is one of the only ways a lot of proprietary software is developed for Linux (even Google, with its infinite resources, did this with Picasa and Google Earth).
