I kind of forgot to respond to this :) Still happens with 2.0.4-0ubuntu2. The installed files list of openoffice.org-common does show /etc/openoffice/sofficerc, and yet that file does not exist. I tried reinstalling that package, which made no difference. All that's in /etc/openoffice/ is dictionary.lst and dictionary.lst.old.
I'm not sure what happened earlier when I manually created /etc/openoffice/sofficerc, but now when I do that it fixes the problem. I checked in openoffice.org-common_2.0.4-0ubuntu2_all.deb -- the file is definitely in the archive, so I can't think why it's not installed automatically. $ cat /usr/lib/openoffice/program/sofficerc # *DO NOT* CHANGE THIS FILE. IT ONLY TAKES THE SETTINGS FROM # /etc/openoffice/sofficerc. CHANGE THAT FILE IF YOU # REALLY WANT TO CHANGE SOMETHING.
