** Description changed:

This appears when trying to view youtube using firefox 3 with either
gnash or adobe installed as add on. In addition the swf was downloaded
and attempted viewing with totem. With firefox and adobe, I do not get
a play window. With firefox and gnash, I get a white window. I can
right click and get gnash controls but never see anything. When
downloaded and trying totem, I get an error window stated above in the
summary. I also tried the epiphany web browser which defaults to gnash
  with similar results to firefox.

I am not overly technical but am willing to try things with a bit of
guidance. Any help will be appreciated.

+ Answer:

+ This problem has been corrected by removing the gnash plug in with
+ synaptic package manager and reinstalling the adobe flash player 9.0
+ plug in. Apparently there is some conflict between the two if both are
+ installed. The problem with the gnash plug in remains as stated however
+ it is not necessary with successful flash player 9.0.
