I am going to try all those things in the debugging of suspend pages. In any event, the problem remains as before on Hardy.
I am no longer using the fglrx ATI drivers, and have switch to a realtime kernel but there is still no way to suspend or hibernate. So I just leave the computer powered on all the time.
